12 days left in the MTC!
January 11, 2012
Salve Famiglia! Come State?!
Well it's hard to believe that Italy and leaving the country are coming up so quickly! I'm really excited for it! Highlights of the week: hearing Elder Nelson talk and spraining my ankle. So I sprained my ankle. I was just playing basketball and just rolled it! It's not as bad as when I thought I broke my foot so don't worry! We also had the opportunity to listen to Elder Nelson speak. He used a lot of scriptures, it was nice to hear an apostolo. He talked a lot about the 12 tribes of Israel and the Abramic covenant so it was pretty advanced but that's alright. This week we also received new Anziani! Most of them are from Utah, one from Oregon and the other from Miami. The one from Miami is a convert, a graduate from Miami University with a degree in business finance and is a 4th degree ti quando belt- not a typical Utah missionary. But they're all really excited to be here and I'm having a great time showing them the ropes.
Oh I forgot, so last week we got to clean the temple! So when we got there the main guy was like now I need someone to put their life on the line and no one raised their hand so I was like I will! haha. So I guess this dangerous thing was sitting on the south entrance and being security at the temple for 3 1/2 hours. So when people would come to the south entrance I would ask for their temple recommend and scan it. Some people didn't have it and I had to be like "Sorry Sir" . The security guy, who was in charge, was really cool, he let me go up stairs and look at the surveillance cameras! Super cool, so while some people were cleaning I was lucky enough to be security! Haha good times at the MTC! Well I'm just getting ready for Italy. Ciao!

Happy New Year!
Good Morning!
Happy New Year!! I didn't stay up until 12:00 on New Years because I would of been soo tired but our district did celebrate New Years at 4:00 in the afternoon because that would be New Years in Italy! We haven't got our flight plans yet but I am planning on calling you all when I am in Frankfurt. My companion already got his flight plans but doesn't know the times but what he said is we fly to Chicago then to Frankfurt then to Milan!! I'm not sure how many are traveling with me but I think it might be 10-15? I am trying to wear my retainer so don't worry haha. My asthma is fine I only need it when I'm at gym playing basketball. I don't think that I need anything before I leave for Italy I might send home somethings like ties I've traded for food. I'll let you know if I do need anything though. I don't like peanut butter and I can live with without Maple syrup! We are getting new anziani today so that's exciting. Yesterday the International missionaries came in and we got a sorrella from France! Today I have to go in and say hello and tomorrow we have to run a meeting explaining what the rules are and take them on a tour of the MTC! I love you thanks for everything you do! I'm excited to go to Italy!
Love Anziano Thomas
